Water Cooling: What is the best way to pevent leaking and damage caused by a leak?
I am going to order a custom kit and want to know the above. Should I order all compression fittings or do you think plastic clamps are good enough. I was thinking of doing plastic clamps
on the pump and radiator, and compression fittings on the CPU block. I have a list of parts I want , check them out and let me know please.. Also can a pump run without a controller or temp sensor? What would I need that I might be missing? Thank in advance. http://www.koolance.com/shop/product...products_id=65 http://www.koolance.com/shop/product...products_id=64 http://www.jab-tech.com/Noise-Isolat...r-pr-2315.html http://www.jab-tech.com/Dangerden-Co...s-pr-3048.html http://www.jab-tech.com/Plastic-Tubi...e-pr-3521.html http://www.frozencpu.com/products/22...tl=g30c101s179 http://www.jab-tech.com/24pin-power-...e-pr-3597.html I dont know about coolant so please let me know what I need besides the dye. http://www.jab-tech.com/Dtek-Liquid-...d-pr-3703.html Also, do you think I should go with tygon (or whatever its called) tubing? |
I would use metal hoses clamps ;)
And im using Tygon 3603 Tubing and MCT-40 Non-Conductive Solution Also make sure everything tight like the barbs but not to right then it well make it leak But I never used the compression fittings so I cant say much about them And run just the pump for at least a day before starting it up I know it long |
Everything looks good, but as Dom said, go with the metal clamps. I have metal clamps on my cpu block with my koolance exos and it holds up very well. I have never used the compression fittings, so Im not sure how they work.
Koolance makes some excellent coolant, and you can get it from newegg for like 10 bucks or so. Its really like antifreeze to tell you the truth. Everything else looks awesome. Do most of your shopping at Frozen CPU as most of the stuff you have on the links is out of stock. |
Thanks, do you people know if teflon tape should be used on the threading of all the fittings/barbs ?

Never mind I found this somewhere in the article section.

hey
im useing some gardin hose an some 3/4 inch i think clear hose 90% of them ar just snug fit no tyes or nothin only tyes i got ar on the pump the stop the hose from blowin off
i had a bad leake once on a rad i had rite where the hose when to the rad so i dryed the spot an shot some krazy glue in there did the trick [just krazy glue is no good for bendy parts] [i used mostly window cocking to seal my cpu] the lil resisters on top an (permatex) dielectric tune-up grease [in the cpu socket an on cpu pins] allso put thin foam sheats around the cpu socket [guiding the water away from the board]if any does get on there [with my -15c tests it does at times ] condesation not leaks allso if u plan to run clear water a cap full of bleach keeps its nice an clear [stops alot of filming an foam to |
