In addition to accelerating existing DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 content, GeForce 8700M GT also features NVIDIA PureVideo HD video processing engine and NVIDIA PowerMizer technology that intelligently balances the user’s need for longer battery life and performance. A lot of them are very high spec laptop maufacturers. That's why you haven't heard of them. Also some of them are only dedicated to one country. Eg Rock, Plaisio etc.

:laugh: No just that you wouldn't have heard of them unless you're very into Laptops (Laptop fanboy here!). Some of these brands make some seriously fast beasts.

Most likely, laptops are being fitted with MXM slots more often now, and so upgrading a laptop has become an awful lot simpler, as long as you can source an MXM card (bloody difficult, without having to buy in bulk, or going to Ebay and risking it)
Also, depends on the format, there's MXM1, 2 and 3, all of different sizes, and will fit different cards, and have differing power ratings (may be wrong there, but just a guess mostly)
