I mean you have a pretty kickass gaming rig

lemonadesoda Oct 23, 2007 11:02 PM

I'm tired of all this drifting and smoking tires rubbish. Let's get back to some real racing games like NFS Porsche Unleashed :rockout: and NFS Hot Pursuit 2 :rockout:

I also want some true supercars, like the Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Astons and Maclarens :)

And what are all these stupid inflatable balloons in the screen shots? Cor Blimey! What a lot of hot air.

IMO the NFS franchise has sold out to this stupid streetcar NOX bling fender paintjob rubbish.

well that sounds like a whole lot of fun and thats where all the money is nowadays, maby you're more of a PGR4 type of guy.

lemonadesoda Oct 23, 2007 11:22 PM

You are possibly right... PGR4 may be "taking over" from where NFSPU and NFSHP left off. Another software company spotten the value, and that the existing publisher was leaving the genre for NOX, neon and bling.

Where the money is? Carbon was a flop for EA. This new NFS still tries to be a Fast and Furious. But I think you'll agree, 5 years on from FnF we've all moved on.

All I can say is THANK GOODNESS there isnt a character called "Diesel" in the game. eek

Cold Storm Oct 23, 2007 11:50 PM

Speed is one thing, but how you can USE that speed is one thing. I'm just like the next guy, Love the supercars, but after doing the stuff you can do in a tuner and seeing one almost match up in dino to a 911, I'm more in to Tuners. I'd spend 80 grand on a skyline than a everyday ferrai any day.

Just wait for the PC version =)

Anyways, Xbox360 owners please tell how it is, as I'm relly looking forward getting this on PC. Looks like they finally done it right, as we have damage, a lot of different events, great graphics and handlings seems good from the videos too. Haven't seen many videos from multiplayer, but that one on gametrailers showed that it hase some nice features also.

Edit: seems like it should be out for PC same time as consoles, nice. Hate those console exclusives or PC gets it half a year later.

Edit2: anyone know if this has crossplatform MP? (propably not, as I haven't seen it mentioned)

lol thats funny. I agree NFSC was a big waste of money for me. But apparently its not all bad news for the nfs franchise, Pro Streets is supposed to ship with a decent physics and damage engine!

It's not just about drifting & tire smoking. There is drag racing (this time more real one, not between traffic), speed challenge (that is pretty much NFS1) and grip racing (read circuit racing).

Yes there are some supercars too: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26723.html

Balloons are quite a lot, can't deny that, but they come with those different organizers

IMO this is coming out of the The Fast and the Furious = NFS Underground, 2 Fast 2 Furious = NFS Underground 2, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift = NFS Carbon; era. Maybe it's because it isn't based on a movie and that is why Most Wanted was also good likewise Hot Pursuit 2 and Porche, because they were before/in between the movies.

If you want just supercars without tuning, there is Test Drive Unlimited for that. I like that you can race different cars against each other, if they are tuned to similar power to weight ratios, with supercars it's pretty much buy the best and win 'em all.

This might turn out to be another Crapon, if the handling is as awful. Doubt it is and they learned from that, but we'll see :)

Need for Speed is my all time favorite street racing game. Im glad to see more games forthcoming.

Batou1986 Oct 24, 2007 01:34 AM

i just got done playing it and it seems like a return to the original nfsu series where u can tune your cars but it looks hella nice and seeing as how there is a clutch now i will be getting it for pc and that damn g25 racing wheel that has a clutch and a 6 speed stick im so glad that the roads actually have an effect on your driving like potholes and gravel mess with your grip and steering and the cars have realistic damage

Imperceptible Oct 24, 2007 01:38 AM

>< Where's my PC demo! I've already pre-ordered the game but I want a taste of what it's like.

Batou1986 Oct 24, 2007 01:40 AM

meh the demo was bs anyway only 2 races with no options to change even your car

Everyday Ferrari? name ONE

This game looks good, and so did the last games in the series, but gameplay was plain bad and unrealistic. this is an arcade-ish game i know, but common.. there has got to be at least 1 person with an actual driving license over there  and it seems like there isn't.
btw, Mazda RX-7 does-a-wheelie in a drag race? :(

IMO if Test-Drive Unlimited had a bit better handling, it could be the best PC racer ever (we want Gran Turismo on pc!!!).

Cold Storm Oct 24, 2007 02:12 AM

I can see a ferrari anytime I want by going to a friends house, and a lambo. But to see a skyline, not everyday you see one of them.

Why are you bragging that you have a friend with rich parents? BTW, We have Nissan Skylines in America, and I'm sure you see them all the time.

Cold Storm Oct 24, 2007 06:47 AM

Helvetica, please know the person before thinking of it as bragging.. It was a point i was trying to make and nothing more... But the game does play pretty nice and I'm looking forward to the release of it.

LOL
Skylines.

There are so many wankers driving those around over here that it isnt funny anymore
Most of them cant drive anyway...

Cold Storm Oct 24, 2007 07:05 AM

Lol, I can really see that... I've been trying my butt off to get a doctors Porsche off him since he said he'd rather drive is BMW Bike, but only got to get it for a night... Whats the one car that is "imported" that you see over there ex_reven?

One?
Just about every second young male has a 'rice cooker' round here.
Whether it be them tossing on exhausts that just waste more of the cars energy by making it louder, or a roof scoop on a hatchback with less torque than my cpu fan.

As for imports I dont have much knowledge of what cars are imported, but top hits seem to include: 200sx, skylines, heaps of subaru wrx's, and a variety of others.

Then you have the homegrown V8 Holden Commodore's and Ford Falcons for the older crowd.

Cold Storm Oct 24, 2007 07:30 AM

I know that all to well. From 8th grade to 12th grade, and a few years after I was in a car club. I was more into the muscle car than the "rice cookers" But my dream car is a Skyline "imported". The way I say import really isn't the name of the car, but if you get any cars that wasn't built for Australia.

I hope this new NFS brings back the real modding, ala NFS:U2. I hated how they dumbed down the mods in MW and later. I miss being able to fine tune on the dyno, as well. (And by mods, I DO NOT mean vinyl, wheels and paint)

Come on wile e, you know the looks out do POWER! They think the color on the rims gives you 5hp per rim. While the vinyl and paint give you better slip differential on any front wheel drive drifter
