8800GT Now Available on Newegg

The 8800GT truly is the star of today, and Newegg is happy to announce that they have plenty in stock. As of the time of writing, you can get two 8800GT's: A $269 XFX model at stock clocks, and a "superclocked" $279 EVGA model.

Hmmm, looks like giving away free games with the hardware is getting quite popular now.

I wouldn't really call it free, it's $20 more than the similarly clocked XFX card, but I get what you mean.

has there been any new comparisons with the gts and gtx cards for the gt?
nvm i looked on tomshardware

I like the reliability of EVGA, so... I would go with them.

WarEagleAU Oct 29, 2007 11:48 PM

Was hoping its would stay in the 250 dollar range or a tad bit lower. Newegg didnt mark it up that much though, so thats cool.

Links are broken.

These seem to be the only two now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...8800gt&x=0&y=0

They are listed under the PCI-e 2.0 section.

nguyenpeter76 Oct 30, 2007 02:46 AM

yeah because they went out of stock.

Chewy Oct 30, 2007 03:01 AM

Looks like aftermarket coolers for the 8800series wont fit this card... so Im poop out of luck with this card and my swiftech mc60 cooler by the looks of it.. till they come out with a new mounting bracket.. hopefully the 8800 swiftech sink set I bought will be ok with it.. meh I'll prob wait for the new 8800gts's (Nov.19th I think).

nice find. i wonder how gears of war will run on the GT.

CrAsHnBuRnXp Oct 30, 2007 05:36 AM

If the card went out of stock, why would they pull the links for the cards? They've never done that for any other product on their website that was out of stock.

the gt is more of a high end card (for now) so it should run it great.

Theses cards strangely havent hit the Canadian market.

They do it on occasion. I don't know what they use to determine whether it should be pulled, or if it gets an "out of stock" next to it, but they do both.
