Looking for Card capable of playing css. bf2 cod4 at 1024 res

Sorry about all these threads with css bf2 cod4 in the name haha

Anyways, Im looking for a cheap card that will play css, bf2 maxed out and play cod4 at pretty high settings(trying to beat my brothers ps3 grapics wise :D) all those games well at 1024 res or above but not that big resolutions. Im not maker biased so nvidia or ati I dont really care, it have to have dvi outputs so i can connect it to my hdtv and use it as a monitor, and i got a tft 17 inch vga that i can use also, maybe dual screen(dont really care). I would like it to be about <200$ maybe 150$.

Thats all pretty vague but i hope i got my main motive across thanks alot

have a look at this card :)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814103049

the 3850 pro is cheap but a very good card

that would be my first choice :toast:

keakar Dec 28, 2007 02:07 PM

you only have two cards in that price range:

Nvidia Geforce 8600GTS or the ATI Radeon 3850

google those cards for best possible price and where to buy

craigwhiteside Dec 28, 2007 02:07 PM

go with the 3850 :)

reverze Dec 28, 2007 03:08 PM

ATI 3850 by far is the best choice in this situation..

Go with the link craigwhiteside provided, you won't be dissapointed!

I'd go with the 8800GT in the under $200 range.

But the HD3850 is a good choice too.

panchoman Dec 28, 2007 04:09 PM

Obscure Studios, we're a small independent game studio, we're currently working on 2 games, a big majority of our team is made up by tpu members, Glen and myself being 2 of em. If you'd like to join the team, we're still looking for some graphics, coding, and beta testing people, feel free to contact me via pm. I cant tell you more as of now, but we'll be having a press release announcing the 2 games so yeah, you'll have to wait till then :)

getting the 3870 for $20 more than that 3850 is a no brainer, thats a big jump in performance for $20.

the 8800gt is better than the 3870 so you will see thre benefit of spending $50 more for it instead of the 3870. the decision is if your happy with having a little less performance then the 3870 saves you that $50 so its all in what your happy with.

Urbklr Dec 28, 2007 06:02 PM

3850 is a great choice...I had one in another computer, played Crysis high, COD4 maxed and such, at 1680x1050. The computer had a 2.8GHz E2140 though, are you going to use your Celeron D in your system specs??
