ATI to release a new X800: the X800 GTO
Yes, you read right, ATI is making this whole X800 lineup very confusing for us. The X800 GTO is suppose to have 12 pipelines, and run at 400Mhz. These specs should place it between the X800GT and the X800XL. To top that off, the card will be available in 2 flavors: with 128MB DDR1 running at 350Mhz, or 256MB GDDR3 running at 490Mhz, both using 256bit. That would make the X800 lineup look something like this: X800 Pro, X800 SE, X800, X800 GT, X800 GTO, X800 XL, X800 XT und X800 XT PE. Please note these are not listed in any particular order.

The GT and GTO are both OEM parts so it doesnt matter.
Nvidia makes strangely named OEM parts, too. 6800 GTO (dell) And anyone remember the 9700TX? hehe. There is also a X800VE card made by powercolor that only has 4 pipes  |
