Panasonic Unveils 150-Inch Plasma at CES
Panasonic has been demonstrating its new 150” Plasma screen to the public at CES this year. The resolution is 4096x2160, and pictures are shown below. As you might have guessed, this is the world's largest plasma display.

Wow thats huge Ill bet the pricetag for the select people that buy this would be like $39,000 minimum.
But then again I doubt that they would ever mass produce this kind of display kind of like that 100"+ LCD HDTV screen that Sharp introduced at last years CES. |
It is nice, but if you going that big get a projector :)
|
I see God has left us his mighty plasma for all! Well, if you're rich anyway...
|
Im fine with 56'' but jesus 150''!!! Thats nuts! Love to play some WoW or Crysis on that tho :rockout:
|

Id buy one that damn big. Hell, dont get me started <G>.
|
The largest so far was 103" and it had the standard 1920x1080 resolution.
This thing supports 2160p, which won't be the standard for.. many years. |
Since plasma uses about the same amount of energy as a CRT, how much does this use!?
|
that would be perfect for my unit now if only i had the cash :D

If the screen was 8' tall... then it would be 30' wide (?), resulting in a diagonal of just over 31' (~372"). Eat that Alienware and Panasonic! ;) |

Which as far as I know, are things that projectors are not as good for. But this raises the question, why would you need a television that size? If your room is big go for a 50 incher, but this is just e-penisery! I say for the average person-> overkill. But then again this is not intended for the average person. |

My hypothetical 8' x 30' screen and projector setup is just e-penisery in the face of Alienware's extra-wide screen and Panasonic's 150" plasma. ;) But size can make up for a projector's shortcomings. Right now I just have a basic 800x600 projector for playing movies up on the wall, about 100" diagonal. And every now and then a friend of mine borrows the projector from his church and we gather 50 or so friends and watch movies in the backyard. You forget about nitty gritty details like contrast and just sit down for a movie on a big ass screen :D |
Well I am not talking about your project, rather the entire concept of gianormic-obese-american-size televisions.
|
150 inches... I wonder how much it weighs?
