New build...temps high :(
So I just get finished with my new build at 4am last nite. Evga 780i, Antec P182, 4gb DDR2-800 Transcend AxeRAM, 2x Evga 8800GT, 2x 320gb WD SATAII, E6300, AC Freezer 7 Pro. I made it a point to reapply TIM to every heatsink. I used AS Ceramique and put it on the cpu, gfx cards, and the heatpipe system on the board. I turn the system on, go into the BIOS, and my MCP temp is at 90C! Upon checking online (on a different pc of course!) the temp should be in the 50's. So, I retired to bed and now I have to take the board out of the case and check the contact on the heatsink...this is the first build where I didn't use a test bench first to check temps and such...stupid me. Now I have no PC to use until this one is fixed (built it at a friends house). So I bribed my friend to take the mobo out and reapply the TIM and such to the board. I'm gonna give him my WC loop that I had listed in my FS/FT post. I don't have the time to fix it considering I work every day this week and also have to tend to my 2 1/2 year old son. Oh well, just thought I would share my crappy experience with you...btw this was a 8 hour build...I went pretty nuts with the cable management, figuring out how to mount my Aerocool FP-01 fan controller in the case, fixing the bottom of the case that snapped off during shipping, and a trip to Wal-Mart for superglue, double sided tape, a 12 pack of Barqs, and some Teriyaki Beef Jerky.
