Tom, here is a link for a Q9450 pre order. Believe it or not, this was actually $339 just a week ago! http://www.pcsuperdeals.com/ProductV...c716b&Refer=11

Paulieg Mar 4, 2008 02:09 AM

Here's another, this one is a bit cheaper, and I know they're legit.

I can't keep up with you and how much you change hardware

trog100 Mar 4, 2008 04:26 AM

there were never many 8500s.. there wont be any quads in numbers either.. some will appear soon just to keep the faith and the shareholders happy.. but that will be it for quite some time.. i think the real truth is intel are actually having "quad" problems.. its not just amd that have them..

the wolfdales are available in the UK but the price stops folks from buying them..

Yes, I bought a e6420 from them. They shipped quick, and no problems. :)

OH cool.

I hope they don't raise the price when the Q9450 comes out.

I'm guessing some E-tailers already have them but don't show them on the site.

For the first time in a long time, I'm going to wait. I like my x3220. At this point, I don't think it's worth a $100+ upgrade for me, especially with an 8x multiplier. Now if results show that the q9450 has a much higher fsb wall, and get up above 4.0ghz with low vcore...then I may consider. My x3220 is sitting at 3.65ghz on 1.47v, and the cores never break 59c on full load. It's kinda of hard to upgrade from that, unless it's a major improvement.

Yeah, I agree. However, the other link I posted is a pretty good deal.

After reading like crazy on several reviews and forums. I ordered from Paul's recommended listed site, a OEM E8500, for 280.00. I'm not sure about the Q9450 and it FSB so my last chip on the 775 platform , as it stands now will be a E8500. The upgrade after selling a motherboard and my current chip should net me 80.00. Every expert seems to agree the Q9450 will be hard pressed to break 4.0ghz 24/7 so until proven other wise it a E8500 for me and some cash.
