Would this saw work good for cutting a case?
Tonight I picked up a black & decker handisaw for $15. Normally went for $40 so I thought it was a good deal. Basically I want to know if it would work well for cutting a case window and some fan holes. Heres a link to it:

should be easier to use than a jigsaw since it looks smaller and has no cord :toast: |
Should work okay, I use a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade to do the job.
The wood cutting blade rips through givinv a terrible edge. If your'e extra picky you will want to get some sand paper and or a crafting tool to make the edges of the hole nice and clean. |
Thanks for the input guys. Looks like its time to start my mod. I eventually want to make an ati themed case. I want to paint my case all black with red parts and red lights. Looks like ill have to pick up a crossfire mobo, another 3850, and new psu too.

make a work log if ya can ;) :toast: |
Yeah I will, it will probably take a few months to get all the parts because I don't want to blow all my money at once. But I do plan on cutting a window and cutting a fan hole on the top of my case this weekend.

just use the highest number teeth metal blade you can find so it will reduce vibration and make a smoother cut. higher number teeth cut slower but leave a better smoother edge after cutting.

The saw came with a 14 tpi metal blade, would that work fine?
Oh and im not super worried about making fine cuts because ill be using u channel around the edges. |

One thing, you can use a cheap saw as long as you get good blades it will work nice. (dont by the least expensive ones) |
