Nice work Solaris.
Your gmem speeds inspired me to push a little harder. I don't have all the nice screenshots yet but this is what I ended up with: E6750 @ 3.52 Ghz 9600GT @ 829/2072/1105(2210 effective) gpu is maxed, gmem may go some more lol 3dmark 06 12334 marks :rockout: |
uhg i dont know what to do with this chip sigh....i think my psu isnt giving enough juice..
|
what's it got
stlll stuck at 740? I picked up a modular corsair 520W with the 9600gt
|
Q6600@ 3.6ghz
4x1024 ddr2-800 9600GT reference asus model @ 775/1944/2100 http://users.tpg.com.au/b3rtrand//9600gtbench.JPG w00t w00t :D:D:D:D:D :rockout::rockout::rockout: |
nice
nice score Wolf...impressive. wonder what the major differences are. your quad core and xp for sure. I can re bench with all the programs not running... will get to it in a bit...:rockout:
gotta look up chips to see what max rating is. |
yeah its definatly XP32 and the Quad running at 3.6 thats doing it for me, its so annoying i cant bench the vmodded 8800Gt in the oc-quad mobo, that thing would see maybe 15k

too bad, is it just sitting collecting dust? hope not...:(

sweet
First I'd like to thank my sponsers, I really couldn't have done it without my wallet and my pants(both of which only participated in the picking up of the card). Second I'd like to thank Sol for his recognition and both Sol and Wolf for the inspiration to abuse my 1 day old graphics card to extremes I never thought possible (at stock voltages anyways). And finally I'd like to thank the tatoos on my 8600GT that motivated me to upgrade. Thanks all ... more to come... :toast: :roll: :rockout:
|
hahahah, very nice post :D
seems your giving out some awards now solaris... but i dont expect you to stay at the bottom, come that new mobo and cpu, maybe psu, i expect youll be at the top! so are there any vmods for the reference 9600GT yet? |
a few over at XS ill find the threads their still working on them im trying my own..i want to try theirs but i dont have any resistors :(
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=178298 eat it up boys their seems to be probs with the referance deisngs with were the points are but their a rea few working...diff cards do diff voltages b4 OCP & OVP but their not sure why..some have said grounding the feedback pin will stop it havent kept up with it though im trying my own than ill wright up a guide :) o and i guess i am giving out rewards but im not that conceded you guys say im dependable and know my stuff and that makes me fell good i by no means see myself as the best just someone that doesnt except limits so if knowing i respect you makes you guys feel better its the least i can do...but it isnt easy your OC skill and respect levels like the trophy states have to be pretty steep so this award will go out to a select few so consider yourselves lucky :) |
24/7 clocks on my setup are 3.4ghz and 750/1890/2000, and at those settings the comp pulls 13k in 3dmark 06 flat.
im pretty pleased with the whole thing, 13k+ is ALOT of marks for such a cheap card, and ill be even more pleased when the nvidia cuda physics drivers come out, as my board has an open ended pci-e x4 slot i can whack an 8600GT into for physics processing. to be honest i think i might like the 9600GT more than my 8800GT.... how much do you think i can get for a volt modded 8800GT with aftermarket cooling on ebay? given it runs 800/2000/1900 24/7 happy as. |
no worries
Hey Sol;
Don't remember seeing anyone accuse you of being conceded. Knowledge is power ... so dude ... enjoy what you've worked for. Gotta give props when props deserved. PROPS to Sol! Bang on about limits, as far as I'm concerned unless one is all seeing and all knowing, one is not qualified to say what's what. No judgments, no limits, just ideas about possiblities...:toast: now onto the volt mod research... |
your not conceded at all, its simple in the way that you are a respected member and above all tweaker and overclocker of the geforce unified shader architecture, perhaps the most gifted i have encountered, so any praise you give us means alot dude.
i mean, i knew i was a good overclocker, but to hear it come from Solaris17 is another thing entirely. and as for limits, what does that mean again? :D |
lol thnx guys means alot
LOL@ limits pshshshshshs |

Doping
K K K
I gotta come clean, did some mm work and it turns out my 9600GT has been doing some power doping. Yes that's right ... I get more power lol. Like Lance Armstrong's abnormally large heart I think ... wohoo! So yeah, gpu 1.17 V - 1.21 V gmem 2.12 V :toast: |
pushed a little harder on the mem, hit 1115 with no artifacts, was able to push it to 1130 with no errors but a couple of lonely artifacts
so 829/2072/2230 |
need vmod already....
|
Damn those are some nice clocks....I haven't pushed my Palit far at all yet...it started at 700/1750 GPU/Shader and 1000 (2000 effective) Memory...I set it to 760/1900, and 1100 (2200)...didn't even phase this thing...and the temps are very cool (around 32 idle and 46 load).
This thread has me interested in seeing what I can find with my non-reference PCB and 3-phase power card can do and see if it really rates up against other 9600's. I may just have to start oc-ing and tuning again! :D |
do it :)
