Creative Announces New GigaWorks T3 2.1 Speakers
Creative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, announces the Creative GigaWorks T3 speaker system. Designed to deliver the ultimate music listening experience, the Creative GigaWorks T3 combines innovative design, the best audio components and state-of-the-art technologies to elevate users' audio listening experience to an entirely new level of excellence.
http://www.techpowerup.com/img/08-09...rks_T3_thm.jpg The two satellite speakers deliver detailed sound thanks to the full-range premium drivers, which combine rich mid-range tones with clear highs. Audio from the satellite speakers merges naturally with bass from Creative SLAM subwoofer design (Symmetrically Loaded Acoustic Module) which uses three drivers to produce powerful, deep, rich bass with responsive dynamics. The system has been fine-tuned to ensure that users enjoy the most natural and balanced music experience. The Creative GigaWorks T3 features Low Standby Power technology, which reduces power consumption in stand-by mode. The simple rear panel features the main Line-In input for connectivity to a sound card or PC; high-grade connectors to satellite speakers; and a bass compensation adjust knob. For total convenience, the system also comes with a wired remote which includes a low friction precision volume dial which doubles as a power/standby switch. The Aux-In on the wired remote allows the GigaWorks T3 to be used with portable music players, and the headphone connector enables private listening with headphones. “This new system is a brilliant blend of size and performance,” says Leonardo Colucci, European Brand Manager for Speakers with Creative. “The use of world-class components in the satellites ensures maximum clarity, fidelity and accuracy in a compact footprint, while the Creative SLAM design in the subwoofer, with triple 6.5-inch drivers, combines precision and accuracy with deep bass. “We are particularly proud of the way we have also been able to enhance the energy efficiency of the Creative GigaWorks T3 Speaker System with our patent-pending Low Standby Power technology,” he adds. “When in standby mode, the speakers reduce power use to a level that's below the current standards for energy efficiency set by the major environmental agencies.” Key features of the Creative GigaWorks T3 speaker system include:

What happened to all the 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 speaker arrays? They are getting few and far between. Id like to get ahold of Cambridge Soundworks 5.1-7.1 arrays.

How many times have i heard creative say exactly that & its still crap from dead TV's in a junk yard that gets solderd on to make this stuff?? I bought a set of speakers from them a while back (still using them now) & the wired remote is as dodgy as bananna flavoured Currey |
I have the Altec 2.1 system and it rocks. Best bang/f/buck period.
They are not perfect, but close enough. They have two tweeter on top, and a desk firing mid speaker. They work surprisingly well. The bass module as well, does a great job. I don't need or desire a larger system for my PC. At least not until I get a new house or game room. Creative can lick me, if I want to pay their prices, there are much better options to choose from. |
I can understand that, but these Creative T5100s are awesome sounding. My cambridge Soundworks Digital 4000s are a 4.1 system and those things kicked ass, just forgot where they were. Id like to see another 5/6/or7.1 system though. The older stuff is just too expensive.

The best speakers ive ever used where PA speakers on my PC. Under that would have to be my JBL Creature IIs. With tweaking ive made these things sound just awesome.

i havent heard any creative speakers before,i use creative ep-630 earphones with my ipod they are awesome,so i guess these speakers would be good value. |
I dont think there was a high enough demand for 5.1 elc speaker set-ups, most people with HTPC I think get a receiver and speakers for thier 5.1/6.1/7.1?
I have a logitech 5.1 speaker system but my 2 rear speakers stay under my desk for added sound when listening to music. I just use the surround function (virtual) on my sound card software, not 5.1. If you had a dedicated PC room than ofc you could set up 5.1surround sound better. http://b.imagehost.org/t/0047/P1000869.jpg I just keep em under there and dont activate 5.1 just surround on my speakers. |
I loved gaming in 5.1 when i had the chance. Totaly beats 2.1 anyday. if i ever get the chance id do that instead of use a 2.1 system.

the creative "gigaworks" series speakers are pretty decent generally...
I had a set of the Gigaworks T40 2.0 speakers and they sounded pretty sweet for small speakers. Recently we got a pair of the Logitech Z-10 2.0 speakers and to be honest they blow the gigaworks out the water. The only flaw in the T40 was the distinct lack of bass... this sis why I think these new ones will be a lot better... they have a seperate sub... and gigaworks subs are usually very beefy ;) |
What you think of this low standby power use? Did electronics manufacturers start to embrace eco-friendly concepts. I would be happy to see some data to back up this hope...
