umm . . . just curious, OCZ - but can you explain what expertise Fatal1ty has in regards to designing PSUs?

Now, if y'all were developing a game with him, that's one thing . . . but last I checked, it's not like he's an electrical engineering major . . .

Eh, sno.lcn's avatar makes this thread worthy. Fatal1ty branded stuff is just annoying IMO.

Eh stop wining over this Fatality sh#t. No fanboyism here because i don't care. At least the guy is making some decent money. Beats selling crack on the corner of the street.
And not every one knows who he is so to them it's Fatality against ModXStream.:wtf:
What would you choose?
And apparently OCZ is making good money out of it because they would not team up with him if not.;)

InnocentCriminal Nov 25, 2008 08:02 PM

See, I'd buy that as it's red and black, however, ignoring the Fatality BS I won't because it's freakin' OCZ and I'm massively disappointed by their products (apart from RAM).

Looks nice with some red LED, but fail for marketing plot

I'm not saying they're all bad, just from my experience with my friend's was awful. It was really freaking loud and the amperage was pretty poor, plus it failed on several occasions, must have been a bad unit.

Polarman Nov 25, 2008 08:59 PM

OCZ makes some nice products however this Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel is a huge shmuck. He really hasn't done anything for anyone bu he has all these companies making peripherals, and components with his "tag" on it. What ever happened to Vo0 products or other well represented gamers.

a_ump Nov 25, 2008 10:33 PM

yea i dout there's much difference, though the single rail 12v is different from my 700watt gamextreme, and that little led that comes on when you flip the switch on the PSU is new also:laugh: definitly deserves a new name :D :nutkick:

its not that 'HE' has all these companies, its more like companies USE his name on their products so they can charge MORE for a product that has features or minor tweaks that are either: A) Totally useless B) Totally pointless C) Totally look cool with black & red colour scheme (which i dig a lot sad to say) & really dont make any difference at all compared to the exact same 'regular' products on the shelf.

a Zalman VF-900 GPU cooler would be a good example - Zalman has 4 editions of this cooler -

1) A copper one
2) A copper one with blue LED
3) A Aluminium one (with/without LED??)
4) A Fata1ity one

& the only difference is the Fata1ity one is made of aluminium with a red LED instead of the blue (or no LED) & a tad higher fan RPM rate for a few more $

& i know this because i have that Fata1ity cooler on a old X1800XT - I didnt want it but the shop i went to sold it to me cheaper then the regular ones

WarEagleAU Nov 25, 2008 11:09 PM

56A on a single rail is nice, beats my Corsair TX650 by 4 AMPS

a_ump Nov 25, 2008 11:36 PM

what are the benefits of a single rail compared to my 4 ?, is it just more consistent/reliable power or something?

KieranD Nov 26, 2008 12:48 AM

What the hell does Johnathan "Fatal1ty" do anyway, is he just some random gamer?
Ages ago people weher like nah get a split rail psu because it can supply the cpu and gpu separate, now i hear people are like nah get a massive one rail it will supply power more efficiently.

I dunno whats better i think there was a thread about it a while ago but it dosnt make a big difference as long as the split rails have all got equally high amperage, or as long as the single rail is high.

cdawall Nov 26, 2008 01:11 AM

these are really good PSU's everyone does know these are made by PCP&C now right?
