what games can i play with the 9300 IGP ??

i bought the Asus P5N7A-VM for a linux build/other crap and it has the geforce 9300 chip on it. im curious to know what games i could probably play with it. i dont intend on doing anything hardcore obviously. its on a core2duo 1.8ghz system with 4 gigs of ram. i also noticed it isnt listed in our tpu gpu database. perhaps i can add the specs once i get the system up and running.

You could probably run some of the older source engine games on it with lower settings and resolution. Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, ect...

Halo 1 would probably work just fine as well.
Doom 3 would probably work.
The older Unreal Tournament games are still fun and should be fine.

all IGPs will do more or less the same.....better than generic IGPs but not too much.

some old an some new but not graphic-intensive games.

but one thing I can ensure you.

You'll be able to run Nintendo 64 and PSOne emulators just fine :D (I played it nice when I had my GF 6100 IGP)

I haven't had great luck running old source games on most IGP's. Out of the newer IGP's, I've only run source on one, and it was an AMD build, but I'm pretty sure the 9300 can run old source games fine on low settings.

Also, check out old RTS games, or simulation games like Roller Coaster Tycoon, loads of fun!

some not very old nfs (most wanted, carbon, u2) and flatout 2

Maybe Combat Arms will all settings low. It's free!!!

wolfenstein enemy territory will play just fine, plus its a native app for linux

Anything I'd say Pre DX10.

IGPs suck because they use system memory. It's basically a GPU core on a motherboard. You will probably be able to play most newer games at low settings, and probably not at the native res of your 22"... meh

I could play bf2 no probs with my HD3200 I.Gfx. Not sure how the 9300 stack against that. it should be better one would think.

yes, u are right, the 9400 is at the time the best igp and thus, the 9300 is a 9400 underclocked

lol my old x200 could play doom 3 on ultra settings 1024x768, and it was an IGP.
The 9300 couldn't play games like crysis very well, but im sure, to a certain extent (mediocre graphics, most on medium, some on high).
you could max out hl2, css, and most other games of that era.
hell, my x200 igp could max out hl2 on 1024x768 with 2xaa and still maintain 40+fps.
right now, with 1920x1200, high settings, 16x csaa//16x AF, I do anywhere between 200 and 300 fps.
lets face it: hl2 just has a very good graphics engine.

EDIT: i cant speak for ep1, or ep2.

this is why i paid a little extra for the board even tho i really could have gone with a $55 instead of this $110.

reading through all of these posts i am anticipating running some benchmarks for the hell of it. and i am pretty sure asus has a utility which will allow me to overclock the IGP

this will be fun!
