Thermaltake Introduces Vi-ON External Hard Drive Enclosure

Vi-ON external hard drive enclosure is the world’s first external enclosure with embedded hard drive suspension system and Active Smart Cooling System. It utilizes a temperature sensing fan that reacts to hard drive temperature and changes fan speed in real-time for utmost efficiency and silence.

While most users do not realize, hard drives are capable of producing a fair amount of vibration when hard drives are at their maximum rotation speed. That is exactly why Thermaltake engineers designed-in the world’s first HDD suspension system to minimize those vibration noises.

Vi-ON’s outer design played an equally important role in the development process. Its unique tilted structural design along with eccentric metal mesh makes it visually pleasing to be placed anywhere in your home, and the removable base unit can be detached for effortless transport. For more information, please visit the product pages of the Vi-ON 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch models.

as much as i normally think thermaltake products are a bunch of crap, i'm honestly impressed. internal hard drives can be suspend, but there normally isnt anything you can do with externals except sit them on a piece of foam or rubber.

Not too keen on the weird tilted design, seeing that out of the corner of my eye would make me think it was falling over.

I was going to say we have had more in stock at Micro Center than we know what to do with for a few months now.

For some reason a lot of stuff ends up being "announced" here on tpu long after it hits shelves.

It's just a removable stand that tilts them. They can still sit flat.

i only remember Thermaltake's fans wich ran around 3000rpm and noisy as hell, thus i won't buy one of these even if there's no fan i don't trust them!

All fans that run at 3000rpm are noisy as hell. That's not Thermaltakes fault.
