i would like any comments suggestions, would be great

wolf Feb 11, 2009 08:21 AM

the card your are looking at is fairly weak, still some low priced good card would be 9600/9800GT from nvidia or a 4850/4830 from ATi

anything more than that and your generic 650w psu wont be able to give it juice, and much more and your looking at a BIGTIME cpu bottleneck for today's powerful cards.

Nick89 Feb 11, 2009 08:30 AM

120$ for a 9500GT WTF?

117$= http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16814161260 Much better card.

eastcoast78 Feb 11, 2009 02:36 PM

ok kool thanks, yea i was wondering about bottle necking .so wolf, your saying this card well not be bottle necked on the Mobo?yea i know its not the most powerfull card around, and that's fine, ill get a bit out of this PC with that card, until i sell it or somehting, then ill Prob Build and get another 8500 and SLI it or something,

fenurch Feb 11, 2009 02:48 PM

nononoo, 8500GT is crap. It's old and when it wasn't that old, it was still one of the weakest cards.

Look at Geforce 9xxx Series as they'll be a bit better. Possibly get a 9800 if you have money, if you don't something like 9600 or ATi 4850/4870 (with a bit extra money.)

eastcoast78 Feb 11, 2009 03:08 PM

yea looks good, but im not interested in used stuff

ZenZimZaliben Feb 11, 2009 03:52 PM

You wanted comments and suggestions. My comment is the 9500GT is crap, and my suggestion is go with a better card. Like this..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130435

eastcoast78 Feb 11, 2009 03:53 PM

ohh yea i understand that, thanks for your help,im pretty new so,bear with me hehehe,so can a 512 be better then 1gig vid card?

ZenZimZaliben Feb 11, 2009 03:59 PM

Yes. There are all types of GDDR - 2,3,4,5...The higher the Number the faster the Video Ram.

Depending on the resolution you run your monitor at, and I would guess its probably around 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, in which case there is no reason to have more then 512Mbs. Only if you are running extreme resolutions...Like 1920x1080 and up to 2560x1600.

LittleLizard Feb 11, 2009 04:06 PM

kool man thanks, lol i think i should of asked before i made the order of the 9500gt,like right now im using a 7800GTX, on a intel 3.4 gzh so i was thinking a 9500GT would be sufficient for the games i play,
its very hard too keep up with the selection of cards, when is it going too end?? lol:nutkick:but yea i think after reading the comments, thank you again all,:rockout:

like i said before im new too this so.!!!

well i did order that 9500gt,im very impulsive, but i think im going too cancel that oder, seeing i ordered it 5am Mon,and have not hada email yet stating that the card is shipped yet, givin it till noon today and well cancel, and go with the 9800 512mb or the Radeon HD 4830 512MB

I highly doubt that. A pentium 4 with a mid range videocard really doesn't use that much power. In fact, I run two quads with a powerhungry chipset and FB DIMMs, four 15K disks and a 260 on a 620W, runs perfectly fine.

The CPU bottleneck on the other hand is more of an issue.

eastcoast78 Feb 12, 2009 07:26 AM

yea thats what im hearing,so the 512 should be all good!!!?

This one is the more cheaper (has a custom cooler), will perform as much equal to the 9800GT and costs $25 bucks less.....and will perform A LOT better than the 9500GT.
