4.120 on a e6750 on Air Cooling

I know its an older processor, however, I was wondering if this was a good OC for air cooling.
I worked really hard on air flow and a good heatsink, Zerotherm BTF90, and idle'd at this speed at 21c and load was 31c

This was as high as I could go, I tried for a FSB of 520 but that seemed to be the limit of my mobo (within voltages I was willing to give it)

looks really good

Looks really good :)

Shame ur mobo is holding you back, I hate it when that happens :(

Very nice, that's a stellar chip, I don't think I've seen a e6750 go over 4ghz w/ less than 1.5v. Very nice, drop the multi and see if you can go w/ 520x7. Your probably very near the point where you just need to up the voltage dramatically to get any more speed. I can go to 3.8 w/ 1.35v, but I gotta go all the way up to 1.5v to get 4ghz. Great clock though. :toast:

Have you done any other stability testing, such as OCCT or prime95?

araditus Feb 22, 2009 04:11 PM

No I have not, however I assure you that was my 10th or so run on spuerpi 1M hehe, I think I am willing to go to 1.5v and a slight increase to my FSB voltage, I really want to hit 4.2 on air, reason is becuase the 30th best clock of my proc ever was 4.5 on Phase cooling according to CPU-Z results. :)

I will try to also run another stress test and give more benches tonight.

BTW this is all on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 mobo

It's a great clock, but only validated IMO if it's stable. Superpi 1m is a very poor measure of stability. I wish you luck with OCCT or prime, and I'll look forward to those results.

I nailed 4096 on my e6750 on my P5K-E, it's a pretty solid clock for that chip!

A lot of them seem to want to tap out around 3600ish without massive voltage increases *see lots of numbers like 1.5-1.55* not too great for easy, cheap, air cooling.

Ok I reinstalled my windows for tonight ^.^ my last version got corrupted hehe I also got OCCT and will try to post a 4.2 ghz stable on air at less than 1.5v gimme 2 hours, Ill get it!:rockout:

His room temp must be 10C.

My Xigmatek cooler keeps my cpu at room temp, I don't see why the room temp has to be so cold :p

kid41212003 Feb 23, 2009 02:47 AM

That's impossible I dare say.

araditus Feb 23, 2009 02:50 AM

I will admit my room temp is <65* F :P

silkstone Feb 23, 2009 03:11 AM

That's a good clock for a 65nm chip, well done.

4248mhz and stable running for over an hour so far, this clock is not intented to be like this for 2 years, but its high imo.

Well, I dare say I got a good batch or something, I think I can get a few more fsb, but I am quite content with that, when I get another rig, I will definitely go all out on this system

Does anyone know a record frequency for this chip on air cooling? I want to try for it sometime!

Thanks for your support, I have had TPU as my homepage for a loooong time and I just joined the forums ><
