may have killed my 8600gts now...
well I guess I was running my 8600gts too hard. I reboot and I get 640x480 4-bit color on my desktop (which looks like absolute ass on a 19"). Thankfully I have an onboard 8100 and am able to use that... I think I'll play some BF2 on it just for laughs

unless you are using a very good aftermarket cooler on the 8600 gts, yes, it seems that u push it too hard :s
looks like you will have to change the name again to wounded. |
it has a vf900 on it. I didn't overvolt at all, just oc. about to throw it in and see if it works...
bf2 runs like complete ass, btw. 15fps avg :banghead: |
yup, toast

STOP OC people, if you want your hardware to last for 20 years lol
If you have some spare money hat, newegg is the way to go my friend :) |
Yes but look at HAT's title....maximum overclocker, my guess is even though he wasn't anticipating the loss, he knew the risks were very much there. I don't think anyone plans on keeping their current hardware for 20 years as their "main rig" u2k, at least in this community, replacing parts is very much the norm even with you recently! :D
Granted Hat seems to lose more hardware than most to overclocking, hopefully his replacement parts treat him well till he replaces them in what I'm sure will be waaay less than 20 years. I'd be interested if anyone still used a PC from 20 years ago for today's use it would barely be capable from what I recall. lol. :toast: |
Well if you guys like to OC, thats cool , i understand the fun in it, but i think its wise to keep more then 2 backup cards laying around.
I meant 8-10 years lol, yea 20 is silly. |
Lulz:D
I Still have no abilities to kill my 8600GT And my friend has back up cards which I can scave off him if I'm in need... Soooo..... OC on everyone:D |
