Mozilla Firefox 3.5 to Get New Browser Icon
 

For the upcoming new Firefox 3.5 (Shiretoko), Mozilla is planning an important final update: fresh new looks of the venerable Firefox icon. Mozilla has already announced its intention to slightly revisit the logo and today the team behind Firefox's development issued first renders. The refreshed icon is work of Jon Hicks, the original logo creator, and from his words it “introduced additional detail to the fur, and the flames starting to wrap around planet mozilla which significantly modernizes and streamlines the appearance of the icon.” With the new icon, Mozilla aims to stamp the various changes it has made during the evoluion of the Firefox web browser. First release candidate of Firefox 3.5 is slated for June this year, no one can predict when the final version will be out.

Sheesh that is so necessary. Dunno why companies always change their logos... ok, small change here, but still. And the current version looks best.

Forget about the logo, how long is Mozilla going to take for the stable release of 3.1? I switched to Chrome because FF3 was crashing nonstop.

eh i notice it, and i thk the current one is better, well if they kept the tail the same, but went ahead with the change on the body.

3.1 is crashing? It was a beta/nightly building anyways. Maybe you should try out the 3.5 Beta 4.

Yeah, it's beta software -- if it's not crashing, it means they're not coding hard enough. :laugh:

More importantly, I want multiple tab processes in Firefox, just like in Chrome and IE8 (oddly enough). If Firefox can do that they'll remain king.
