Best AMD CPU and Motherbpard
 

:roll: I am a noob s to AMD stuff, but i would like to play with a AMD setup. The question is , what is the best stuff out there, not from a cost perspective, but.....

what is the TOP OF LINE AMD cpu

and what is a good MB to go along with that.

I figure if i am gonna play i want to get the top of line stuff to see how it stacks
up to my i7 stuff.

I'm not looking to knock it down or post neg stuff about it,
but i do a lot of cpu intensive stuff and would love to make some real world
comparisons for my own knowledge growth,

i am also looking to crunch at the end of the summer when heat isn't an issue,
so that is playing a part in understanding both platforms and how they
run an handle loads.

Theres the best proc and the best 2 mobo's, would be a killer system.

Yeah AMD does have a killer price point going.

does the 955 and board combo OC well?

are you putting the system on DICE/LN2? cause if you do the GD70 has a nasty habit of being dead after it gets cold

but it would be air for me- never done anything else, someday I want to do a good WC loop.

I am guessing DICE is: dry ice
and LN2 is: liquid nitrogen
