Solved it! If you put '2' after the unofficial overclocking variable in the afterburner.cfg file the limits are extended even more, but powerplay is disabled. Since I only play games on this laptop...

I am currently overclocking my gx740's 5870 mobility card. The CCC limit for the core is 860(700 default) and the unofficial overclocking limit with AB is 910. At 910 it is quite stable....

Moving the pagefile from the ssd to the spinpoint did't solve the stuttering. Thanks for the tip though, since it did save 4gb on the ssd.

Ah, that explains a lot since I play most of my games with v-sync on. But the buildin v-sync in F1 sucks, so I left it off. Plus, in 3dmark 11 the fps aren't that high, so it isn't a high load...

Maybe not, but the only way for you to up the voltage of your mem is flashing it to a 6970 bios (from 1.5 to 1.6). Upping the voltage to the gpu won’t effect the mem, if that is what you mean.
