i had a similar issue with my machine at work,...

i had a similar issue with my machine at work, very random, silly as it sounds was fixed by letting windows to a disk check, if not boot from the windows disk and let it try a startup repair

ensure the sata in the bios is set as IDE, if still no joy, you may need to get the sata driver from the ASRock website and f6 st start of install, check the IDE bit first though
