It is the lack of reviews for the edifier speakers that I find really weird. The only reviews I could find are in german. :(

The more connectors the signal has to pass through, the more it degrades.
As far as I know you can't fix it, you either have to plug stuff directly in the back of the pc or buy a sound card.

I've had the exact same thing happen a couple of months ago, crashes + texture corruption in games which all got fixed by re-seating the card.
Haven't had any other problems since then but it sure...
