NT Password Reset will remove the password from your local administrator account (or any other account). Quite easy and straight forward to use.

Of the free AVs I've found Avira is the best as it has good detection and a fairly small foot print. Only downside is a daily pop-up asking you to upgrade to the premium version

It also lets you run 64bit virtual machines. That was the big downer for me when i got my e7400 because i assumed it had vt but it didn't so i can only run 32bit vms :banghead:
