It's fixed guys, it was the power management...

It's fixed guys, it was the power management thing. Ranked it up to high performance and turned the idling crap off. Runs perfectly well now.

Were you using a No-CD Crack for GRID? If so, try replacing it with the normal exe file and then play the game.

Some people have found that this fixes crashing strait after racing in 1.2 :).

Simply was because when I installed SP1 before, it corrupted itself during the install... But anyway took SP1 off then put it back on and hey presto...
