I am a noob s to AMD stuff, but i would like to play with a AMD setup. The question is , what is the best stuff out there, not from a cost perspective, but.....

what is the TOP OF LINE AMD cpu

and what is a good MB to go along with that.

I figure if i am gonna play i want to get the top of line stuff to see how it stacks
up to my i7 stuff.

I'm not looking to knock it down or post neg stuff about it,
but i do a lot of cpu intensive stuff and would love to make some real world
comparisons for my own knowledge growth,

i am also looking to crunch at the end of the summer when heat isn't an issue,
so that is playing a part in understanding both platforms and how they
run an handle loads.

so thanks in advance for any info you can throw at me....
