According to DigiTimes, ATI has offered a beta version 6.8, of Catalyst drivers that will enable CrossFire support on motherbards utilizing Intel's P965 Express chipsets. ATI recently released the latest
Catalyst 6.9, but the 6.10 version of the drivers is expected to support officially dual-graphics-card on P965-based motherboards. The recent introduction of a
CrossFire-ready P965 motherboard from Micro Star International (MSI) had also created some confusion since ATI had not officially announced on its website that CrossFire support would be featured on products utilizing Intel's 965 chipsets. ATI mentioned at this year's Computex Taipei, in June, that the company's licensing agreement with Intel only agrees to CrossFire support on 955X- and 975X-based motherboards and does not apply to boards carrying Intel's 965 chipsets. However, ATI may authorize CrossFire enabled P965-based motherboards in order to encourage sales of its upcoming Radeon X1950 PRO and Radeon X1650 XT chips.
