We aren't questioning its thermal conductive threshold, but rather it's physical construction. The base of this heatsink is wider than the IHS of even the biggest i7 processors so the two outermost heatpipes will hardly contact the processor (if at all) resulting in performance less than what you would expect if all 5 heatpipes were conducting heat.
