np just around here its $370 ish for a 285 $280-300 for a 5850 and i know down under its even MORE expensive so dropping that cash for no real benefit in the long term just dosent make sense besides that q6600 + 260gtx should be fine for another year
FERMI = code name for the new Nvidia gpus due in march / april there Nvidias DX11 gpus to answer ATis 5k series which has been out for 4 months now altho fermi is still 3 months away from an availibility perspective
anyway my point is no sense upgrading now
285 is more expensive and slower then atis mid range DX11 gpu (5850)
the gf100 gt300 fermi (all the same damn thing just different code names) i brought them up because some people wont consider ATI they just prefer nvidia
nothing wrong with that but if your gonna drop money on an Nvidia gpu its better off being saved for the new gpus there coming out with
besodes Alien vs Predator will be here soon and its a DX11 titles with tessellation if your gonna get a new GPU it should at least let you play with all the bells and whistles right?
