Don't forget hyperthreading: 4096 logical cores at 2.26 GHz.
AMD hasn't made an octo-core yet. They are close to (if haven't already) releasing a MCM 12-core chip which has two hexa-core Istanbul chips. This chip most likely has better throughput though because of hyperthreading (16 threads per processor versus 12).
