Another thing. When i try to go beyond 1500, at any timings or voltages, i lose a 2gb stick and boot into windows with only 4gb. Cpu-z shows 6144 mb of ram, but the windows task manager only uses 4gb. What is happening. Motherboard is EVGA X58 sli, bios date 30-06-10 (can't find number).

You may need to increase Vtt/PCI-E voltage again to support that extra speed as greater demands are being placed on the memory controller.

I cannot speak for folding but the i7 Platform loves bandwidth and often (but not always) prefers higher bandwidth over lower timings. Maybe post over in the crunching threads to find out their experiences.
