That PSU is overkill, a 650w would suffice for a 6970. Also, a gtx 570 performs the same and I'm guessing is cheaper. A 6950 could be be flashed and save you money. For a single monitor the 6950 1gb would be better. You could spend 30 dollars on a CPU cooler and still be well below the temp thresholds...
