urgent: Installing new GPU on old PC (updated: PSU pic)
Hello i have finally sold my 3yr old sapphire HD4870 in perfect condition, on an local auction site.
The buyer apparently has some problems getting the GPU running.
The PC is like 5yrs old, the PSU is LC Power 6600 (600 W)
the mobo is microstar k9n neo , AM2 no integrated gfx
(the guy thought he had "core 2 duo system" , but that's impossible)
The PC does not start , no power , no lights no nothing at all.
--- fast forward ---
Now he says he has been able to start it, and the PC doesn't display any screen, the screen is black at all times , i also asked him if the screen faints or flashes to a DIM or some other gray dark color , and he says no. (however im not so sure my self)
then he says he put the OLD GPU back inside and that GPU didn't work either anymore
He also answered me that he didn't put the old Drivers down , he just turned off PC , and replaced the GPU.
I don't think he did something in BIOS but he sas he hasn't been in BIOS since he installed WIN7 , i think apparently setting some DVD bood priority and that's it , so DRAM settings might be DEFAULT anways , i was suggesting CLR_CMOS but i think we should get screen working first has nothing to do with BIOS.
This is going on now so help is appreciated fast.
