actually this kind of motherboard should even be enough even for a hardcore gamer that doesn't overclock...

I mean the SB is already quite enough for 7970 or 680 without overclocking... an most of today games (and I strongly beleive that will be also true in the near future) don't really need anything beefier than those cards... OK, maybe except eyefinity/surround vision setups...
1 SATA6 should be enough for an SSD and the other SATA ports can be populated with mechanical HDD... and you'll have one slot for nice sound card, either PCI or PCIe based...
