You have to understand that aluminium is not cheap, especially if you use plates as thick as Lian Li uses. All plates are 2mm thick and the whole case is really rigid. I used to have cheaper Thermaltake all aluminium case and it was rather crappy. Sure it was light but the whole frame deformed on its own to such extent that my PCIe 1x soundcards started loosing connection because the slot frame deformed so far that connector moved inside PCIe slot and disconnected.
Also sides were so thin i got horrible vibrations from the case sides themself.
I think Lian Li justifies the price pretty well even if some think its too expensive. Materials, craftsmanship and smart layout speaks for itself. I also thought they are too expensive until i bought my current PC-V354 case. It's tiny but just superb. I love it and i'd consider Lian Li again when i'll be in need for a new case.
