x8 and x4, pci ex 3.0 make a small difference but x16 not really, even so its a tiny percentage of a difference from even an x8 x8 pci ex 2.0 config.
Point being i dont really think pci ex 3.0 or Ivy is needed to keep up with a GTX690.
