"...02. Who can participate in this program?
Any resident of the United States of America or Canada, who has an ATI or another manufactures graphics board, who have a valid credit card number and has purchased their new ATI Graphics card directly from ShopATI...."
This is an excerpt from the Ati Trade-Up FAQs. But I have no doubt they will stick to their "proven formula" with the Crossfire thingy, too.
This might have had something to do *lookingforanexcuseforthatsympatheticfirm* with former German laws forbidding rebates or giveaways added to bought things worth more than 3% of the goods value. A law officially having the purpose to counter unfair trade practices applied on stupid customers, it is a product of a time when rebates and bargaining were considered un-german...seven decades ago...laws are hard to die and find themselves new ways to be indispensable.
But that law from the thirties of the last century was, at last, cancelled.
No more excuses. And anyway no excuses to offer that kind of customer satisfaction in the smaller european countries all the time or now, anyway!
