Well a GK160 with that one "odd man out" GPC cut... and that un-need memory controller axed necessitating 128-Bit, color me surprised!

I think reference these will be right at a 560Ti, and while better performance/watt I think it will be closure to a 7770, while not as good as the 7870. MSRP for reference $180 if anyone actually releases something in such trim. What you see is the typical marketing and promoting of "Über clocked customs", which will proliferate with all kind of wild shrouds and box’s.

The catch is AMD's AIB's will be all releasing 1Gb 7850 and they will end up priced better and will outshine. Then in a couple of months AMD will have their Oland GPU ready, and Nvidia will have to relinquish their price by 25-30% to stay competitive in Christmas buying season.

There are already 7850 1GB out priced at 160$-170$ after rebates. Don't think we'll see any new AMD GPUs this year.

With 650 it boils down to GK107 sucks and Nvidia doesn't give a flying fuck about how many of them they sell on retail, because they are selling them like hotcakes to OEMs and any extra sales beyond meeting those contracts would only lead to them having to compromise (even further) the wafer allocation for the much more profitable GK104 and GK106.

Pretty sure the CFO from Nvidia mentioned last quater ago Nvidia is shrinking its OEM channels on Discrete Graphics to the point sales and investment into isnt worth mentioning since he discounted the figures to investors in that conference call in Q2.

If its selling like hotcakes, it's very few hotcakes for him to brush it aside like that infront of investors.

AMD slashes prices... again
Again... last round was Aug 20th, but yea.
A $20 drop for the 7850 1Gb to $160 -AR. While it's said regular 2Gb 7850 are $190, so as they have been on the market 7 mo's it's not too unexpected that's like 24%. While this isn't so much like the 660Ti that Nvidia wedge in between the 7870/7950. Does this mean a GTX650Ti is going to MSRP at $160? If it is I doubt it, I think we'll see mostly Über clocked customs for that will provide dicey performance 1920x and still be $190.

As for a 7770 if you have paid $110 -AR any time lately you got taken, Other than that Sapphire Vapor-X... that's a nice card even if it is $135 -AR.

It seems Nvidia wants to throw the Ti name with everything they possibly could. Just wait they'll release a GT 640 Ti --- just to sell it to dumb people who think the Ti means performance

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Low end means 7770 and 7750 from AMD. NV has the GTX650 out which is slightly faster than the 7750 and costs 10$ more. In a few days the 650Ti will be launched at a rumored price of 150$. Based on last leaked specs this card will be closer to the 180$ 7850 than to the 120$ HD7770. I don't see "clearly cheaper" option here from AMD.
Spot on...

Is it the 640 that would have the price people and too much power people happy as it falls between the 7770 and 7750 both price and performance wise?

Look's like a $160 -AR$20 7850 1Gb holds it own against a MSI GTX660 @$205 -AR$30 or EVGA GTX660 SuperClock @$230. You wonder what a castrated GK106 can do?

http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2048/1/

Why do people resort to external limited (and biased*) reviews when trying to prove a point that really doesn't exist?

HD7850 2GB is nowhere near the GTX 660, much less the 1 GB version. GTX 650 Ti should be around 80% of a 660, so seemingly as close to the 7850 as the 660 is to the 7870 if not more. At $150 it will be of slightly less value, granted (and why price cuts happen to begin with), but nothing remotedly close to what you seem to suggest.

* Dirt Showdown, Metro and Sleeping dogs, are you kidding me? Out of 5 games (poor review btw), 3 are heavily AMD biased games, the use of Batman doesn't change the overall perception of that review. W1zz's reviews are far more detailed and unbiased, that's why we are posting here, so use them ffs.

As we already seen here some good time ago:

One GB 7850 performs the same as the 2GB version. So we will probably see 10$ worth of performance less for the 650Ti across the board (whatever that means in FPS) and 30$ worth of performance more compared to the 7770 (whatever that means in FPS).

I'd bet 2-3% faster than the GTX 560 Ti. Nvidia seems to have designed 660 Ti and non-Ti to just barely beat GTX 580 and 570 respectively and I'd expect a similar approach with the 650 ti. Plus on this basis and with the basis of ~80% of a GTX 660 we end up in the exact same performance. I don't think it's coincidence. Even GTX 650 (non-Ti) is 2-3% faster than GTX 550 Ti. Every single card this gen has a counterpart from last generation which is within 5% difference. It just cannot be coincidence and could be a reason for the relatively low clocks of non-enthusiast chips (clocked lower than high end for no real reason, it never happend before). Why would they do this I have no idea, but it seems the case. At least to me, I don't believe in so many coincidences.

Just wanted to point out Nvidia never officially sent out the 660 to reviewers..

Reviewers are based on percentage differance to the AIB Overclocked cards.

I asked w1zzard on released day but he never responded on how he based his 660 numbers.

All 4 GTX 660 w1zzard reviewed have different % when it relates to the stock 660. Well outside the margin of error of 3%.

Just putting that out incase you over looked that when try'n to be unbiased.

lol, or perhaps they'll release a gtx680ti to take the crown of benchmarks on the several games back from amd's hd7970 ghz edition

but anyway, i will wait till this card got reviewed, and how it will performs ( i assumed based on its final specification that this card would performs over HD7700 but slightly under HD7850)
i think its price is overpriced :(

And? You can't even handle basic math?

Downclock any OC card to stock clocks? Genius...

I know it started with the GTX 5xx series but I think its lame naming scheme. Makes it sound better than it actually is

I'm not butthurt, it's sarcasm what you detect (but how could I expect you to know the difference). I'm amazed that you don't even know why what you pointed out is irrelevant. No it's actually stupid. You think that the results are different between reviews, when in fact they are exactly the same. And the funniest thing, you don't know why, which is sad. :shadedshu

So, even though you think it's lame...you think it sounds better.

Well its like putting GT behind the name of the model car a manufacture is selling. Take the Hyundai Elantra GT. There is nothing GT about it and yet they have the GT name. Makes people think its better. I never said I think if sounds better (c'mon GTX 650?) but people will think it does

Can you link me to the Nvidia GTX 660 review ?

I was under the impression that Nvidia hasnt sent out cards for review since the 670.

I'd like to view a review of the GTX 660 that doesnt use a OC non-referance design with unbias and detailed information plz.

Thank you so much. :toast:
