Input lag with Adaptive V-sync on ?!

I got input lag when playing borderlands 2 with adaptive v-sync on... isn't adaptive V-sync supposed to get me rid of that problem?

I use 2x gtx 670 in SLI...

In the past, I dealt with input lag by Capping my FPS to 59 when I was using crossfire and v-sync... and it worked like a charm... I was gettin the benefits of V-sync and avoiding the input lag @ the same time...

I thought Adaptive v-sync would do the same for me... but apparantly, the only way for me to get rid of the input lag when playing borderlands 2 in SLI with adaptive v-sync, is to use the "in-game" 60 fps cap, alongside the adaptive v-sync...

all this seems weird to me... any ideas ??
