I tried on my 680 but it only lasted for 2-3 hours and then I ran out off WUs but it seems like some people with 470 get some decent return and it could be because they got more luck then Buck and me so don't give up.
Edit As Waternub said it can be done. I failed the first 3 times on my AMD so don't learn by my experiences.
