It's because the public perception is that a disproportionate percentage of non-caucasians recieve government assistance. Not defending it, I think the people perpetuating this crap are more racist than those they accuse 99% of the time.

Ron Paul had a lot of great ideas, but also a lot of terrible ones. I loved his stance of foreign policy, but his financial policy was questionable at best. The branding of him as a racist was actually because he said he thought the Civil Rights Act was unconstitutional because you shouldn't be able to tell private business owners they must serve blacks. Which is... pretty racist lol.

That's actually how it was through the Reagan administration, but after that there spawned the Extreme Right (Tea Party for the most party), the Right, and the Left. Over time, to get votes, the Left had to move more towards the center. So we're basically stuck with Centerists (Obama), the Right (Romney), and the Far Right (people like Grover Norquist and Michelle Bachmann). Hell, by todays stances, even Nixon would be considered a bleeding liberal. American politics are absolute nonsense these days.

As for "rape"ing us of money, taxes are not akin to stealing money, and wherever that idea came from is beyond me. I firmly believe we should have a safety net\bottom line in this country, but NOT that we should incentivize people to sit around. I think someone hit it on the head when they said we need to broaden the gap between unemployment and what entry level workers make, but do it by getting pay up for low and middle class individuals. As it is, CEO pay has sky rocketed and the pay of lower and middle income workers has stagnated, and given inflation over the past decade actually dropped.

Do you have a source for that one? I haven't heard anything like that. I would be interested in researching the actual policy changes, because that doesn't sound accurate at all. But seriously, do we not already have "Propaganda" channels? Most of our 24 hour news networks take care of that for us.

As for the death of the PC, it will never happen. There will always be a market for them, since they do offer the highest levels of performance. I don't expect consumer PC's to be offered in massive quantities forever, but I expect there will always be a market for Desktop PC's for workstations and enthusiasts.
