At the moment no, you can't utilize a Phi via OpenRL. But support could be added in the future by Imagination, Intel, or a joint effort.

OpenRL, on which the Caustic Visualizers are based, is a platform independent ray tracing layer. It currently supports CPU-only ray tracing and will also target the Caustic hardware, which will be shipping early next year.

While OpenRL is platform independent by nature, we can't comment on any plans to port OpenRL to other platforms. However, we are always listening to our users (and this Forum) and are very interested in what other platforms they find attractive.

Director of Product Management, Imagination Technologies

-edit- Of course, OpenRL isn't the only library available. If any of them gain support for Phi, there's the potential for competition.
