A lot of games out there can look pretty but the world itself is not 'alive'. I think Crysis 3 goes out of it's way to make the entire environment feel tangible. I'll give Crysis 3 my vote on that front. Pretty texture mapping is not as impressive as 'pseudo' realistic environmental effects.

If you played MGS3 back in 2004 when it come out it already had all those environmental effects it was more alive as you could cut grass with your knife cut tree backs, and pretty much anything
So not new after all
