Not bad, I'm not too far off.

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/268986

I'm able to run at 1163MHz at 1.2v (got Afterburner working with voltage after all). No memory overclock till my back plate is on for additional heat dissipation. I think it's possibly hitting a power envelope above 1163MHz (+150 offset). Tried 1178MHz (+160 offset) but the driver crashes on all benchmarks almost instantly.

At 1163MHz (and i73930k @ 4.0GHz) I'm getting

Heaven 3.0 Benchmark (1920x1080, 8xAF, 0xAA, Normal Tesselation)
148.3 fps (3736 score)

Valley Benchmark (Extreme HD Benchmark)
70.4 fps (2946 score)

This has been a fun thread to watch. Your titans totally outclass my 7970.
I am curious though, what scores does titan get at stock clocks in the firestrike test. I am wondering if my 7970 overclocked can match titan at stock. You guys both have 3930k's so I can only really compare the graphics score. My 7970 1300/1800 got 9684 score while you are both above 11000 score.

I'm sure it got 9k+ at stock but my stock is a constant max boost of 993. I'll do a run tomorrow morning, it's 23:28 here and i'm off to bed now. zzzzzzzz.

I have 7970 that does 1300, and a 3960X. There is no compare. Titan IS faster.

7970 does pretty good though.

Yes... Titan is faster. Much faster. No dispute there. I was just wondering if my overclock can gets me near stock titan performance. Really for no other reason out of curiosity. I don't even run my 7970 at those clocks very often, I am even happy with it at stock. This card is going to last me awhile.

Okay, for Firestrike with my card at stock, my graphics only score is 9958. The overall score is 9059 but my processor is only clocked at 4.0GHz.

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/381986

The card is severely limited though for high overclocking as it needs a BIOS flash to run above 106% power usage. My card performs 1163 on 1.2v without any hitch (on testing so far) but as soon as it kicks up to 1176 the driver stops responding. TDP limit reached i think!

Titan is a great card but it is abysmal for overclocking compared to a 7970. Luckily, the experience I've had in game with my Titan has been no worse than 2 7970's. Yes the fps is lower but it's still above the refresh rate of my monitor. And as the countless 'discussions' have mentioned - there is no judder or stutter. Makes no diff to my BF3 experience - it was great on crossfire but on TR (of all titles) with it's shitty optimisation, it's smoother.

Installed TWO Titans today, doing some 2560x1440 gaming, pretty nice.

But the fact everyone says they are whisper quiet... um no, ive used MSI Frozrs and the Titans are not the same, sometimes, but i needed to set a manual fan curve that only reaches 50% otherwise i dont like the noise they make.

My Titan only hit 50% max fan on auto. The noise was there but it wasn't intrusive and even then, only once the temps went past 76 degrees did it ramp up to 50%. After that the clocks dropped instead of the fan going higher.

Now of course I've got a block on it so the temps max at 40-42 after prolonged gaming.

And by God your case is sparse! You could rent that out to a small family.

Plural? You got another one?

Oops - typo! In fact I wrote that whole thing as if i had two.... old age confuses me...

To be honest - I thought if i sold my 7970's (not happening in here at TPU it seems, fleabay time) I might just get another Titan but I don't need another one.

One screen - one Titan.

It's just a nice shiny aluminium (aluminum as US spell check says) plate. I might play around with core and memory clocks to see what mix gives the best results. The plate might offer the memory chips some leeway.

*Brushes cobwebs from thread*

So, my card reaches 1100MHz and is gaming stable. Had a CTD at 1124MHz but that could have been from many things.

I really would like to stretch it's legs but for that to happen I'd have to flash it. The 106% power limit is holding all the Titans back. The guys over at overclock.net have had quite a lot of success with a custom BIOS with cards running stable at 1202MHz.

I'm pretty sure the benefits wouldn't be that tangible to me (in real world use) but it's more of an issue of seeing what it can do. The slightly higher power draw from an unlocked BIOS doesn't bother me (I was on 2 x 7970's @ 1100). What bothers me is the flashing process itself and if it is safe enough to do. I know the steps (NVFlash and the custom BIOS sharing a folder, right click/shift to open DOS and run the specific commands, reboot if required).

Is it foolproof or silly.... That is the question.

I personally don't think it's ever worth flashing the BIOS of a GPU that you don't consider expendable, but I'm not the biggest risk-taker in the world either...

I would give it a few months and let more success and failure stories prop up. If everything there seemed to be few problems, than I personally would do it.

I use either a stanley knife or an actually hose cutter. I find a stanley knife much better as long as you know the exact length to cut to. When i used the hose cutter on this particular section in the photo i decided to chop into my finger as well. Literally blood and sweat for this loop.

I really admire the quality of your water loop, the degree of dedication to your build rivals that of even the best custom PC shops out there, I'm glad to have you as my mentor :toast:

I'm humbled by your praise but there is genuinely a huge number of guys out there with rigs way more involved than mine. I just know how to make glossy shiny PC porn pics with a good photo

Guys like (and not limited to) t-ski, sneeky, 20mmrain, MTAlex, Cold Storm and all the other exceptionally cool dudes that helped me in the Naturally Aspired watercooling clubhouse deserve the praise - they showed me the ropes. :toast:

I carry the [PnS] clantag but there is no clan - not anymore at least. I'm mediocre at best - the guy above a few posts, Finners, is way better. In fact he probably hacks ;)
He doesn't, but playing beside me, anyone looks good!

EDIT:

My block just arrived - not bad considering it was shipped at 14:11 yesterday from Slovenia. Not even 24 hours. However, i pissed my self when i opened it. Many companies use old papers to pad out a parcel. I got a nice sex shop advert in mine!!

Can someone translate?
