Where the pic is taken is just off of the main city center's CBD open air "mall" and on the right hand side of the pic is Newcastle's main post office lol, Oh and just next to the post office on the other side of the train tracks is one of the harbour side pub/night clubs.
The grey archway awning things have only been installed in the last year or so, without them the photo would just look shit. I gather that's what the photographer realized, they were installed as part of a council "program" for having outdoor markets/stalls on the weekends, that lasted all of about a couple of months then died out
Anyway that's enough history and trivia about that pic and my home, might keep an eye out in future for photographers and see if I can get in the background at the Brewery (pub)
