Western Digital unveils new 500GB SATAII HDD
Western Digital Corp. has announced its new high-capacity 500 GB Serial ATA (SATA) WD Caviar SE16 desktop-class hard drives. WD Caviar SE16 500 GB(WD5000KS) is a half terabyte of capacity hard disk drive with 7,200 RPM motor, 300 MB/s transfer rate, 16 MB cache and Native Command Queuing (NCQ) support. WD hard drives are designed to have the lowest power consumption of any high-capacity, desktop-class hard drive which lowers the operating temperature for enhanced drive reliability. WD Caviar SE16 500 GB has WhisperDrive and SoftSeek technologies, which minimizes noise to levels virtually imperceptible to the human ear in home and business environments. WD Caviar SE16 500 GB (model WD5000KS) hard drives may be ordered on the company's online store here for $349.99 USD.
