I like seeing different styles executed...even in the real world (god forbid right? ), no 2 managers do their jobs the same...sure it may be close, and the company may try to enforce it, but I feel at least some diversity of even those in power is important. Think police, management, teachers, whatever...anyone that has power...in groups, noone is the same...that's just more reality, some are more strict, some are more leniant, some are more by the book, etc. This is not a black and white world, so expecting such results from a diverse staff is less important than getting those that are having a bad day to just lay off and step back for a little bit.

I mean no offense to ya imperial as I respect you and know you are a great value to this forum, but I do disagree with your post to an extent. I would rather have diversity on this forum not only in members and viewers, but with staff, I feel it's more important than what most read on the cover. I'm not saying a system with more defined rules is a bad thing, but those who want a stricter environment...there are plenty of forums out there that feature all sorts of levels in that aspect...there's a few good reasons I joined and stay at TPU...a good online environment with diversity, and a unique staff that does a great job yet doesn't put a spiked collar on every member are just a couple of them, but they are very important to me. Sure some staff may be stricter or harder to deal with...they have a duty to uphold...and after wading through so much shit for so long, your fuse is only going to continue to get shorter and shorter for more shit, and with the members bashing staff I see all the time on here, I wonder how some even visit TPU anymore...so thanks guys for sticking around (ya better stick around Polaris...sure take a vacation or something, maybe even step down to member status, but don't leave TPU, you're a great mod and a great member!).

Maybe I misunderstand your point imperial...if I do then I aplogize for that, in the end...I don't see why so many want change? TPU is a great place, generally those that have issues are those that want to have issues from what I've seen and experienced, even the best and most helpful members/staff have bad days..it happens, fortunately overall this place just kicks ass!

I have a thought for all of you guys, I mean no offense, but want to make a point:

Maybe if the mods are willing to be more consistent w/infractions and banning as a group, the members that fuck off, offend others and piss and moan about shit that's not their business in the first place can knock that off too? That's equality! Sure things may be more boring, but in the end wouldn't that be more fair?

Long live TPU! Even if you hate something about it...you still keep coming back for more...look you're reading my post right now!

No - I completely agree with you Kursah, I just failed to mention this point in my earlier posts:

mods should be as diverse as we are, but when they have to go into "mod mode" is when I feel there need to be a little more equality and similarity between how they handle situations.

I mean, I understand that depending on what type of day each mod is having has a major impact on what they're willing to put up with . . .

but, I mean along the lines of how they handle offenses; for an example, what I thought was quite forgiving and very respectable:

PM them asking them to edit it.

Tell them in public to change it by posting in the thread they did it in. if they didnt respond to the PM.

Third Step

Edit it myself.

Fourth step

if they continued to cuss hard core flam call names or troll they get a slight infraction.

Fifth Step

more severe infraction

Sixth

i would ban you for a week.
But, it doesn't always seem like every mod follows this formula, or any specific/set formula- modA might give you a warning, while modB might immediately issue an infraction, and modC might request that you edit the offending post

this difference in how mods approach the peace keeping is why, IMO, so many users feel singled out, when they see other users who've committed similar or worse and some mods pay it no attention.
