Lian Li Introduces New PC-9 Mid Tower Aluminum Chassis
Lian Li Industrial has officially introduced its latest midi-tower aluminum chassis, the PC-9 series. Standing at 209 x 435 x 488mm (W,H,D), the PC-9 series is not among the biggest Lian Li cases, but manages to offer 5x 5.25 bays and space for four hard drives thanks to a hot swappable SATA cage. The HDD cage is also cooled by a ball bearing 120mm side fan. The motherboard tray of PC-9 can accomodate standard ATX and micro ATX form factor motherboards as well as 7x PCI slots. The back of the case reveals one more 120mm exhaust fan that spins according to user's needs (there's a three speed fan speed switch at the back of the case) and pre-drilled holes for water cooling. The PSU bay is at the bottom, and from what I see is not compatible with every PSU, at least I would not use a 120-140mm fan PSU with this case, although Lian Li says it's OK. If you look closer, for some reason there aren't any ventilation holes at the bottom of the case from where a PSU with big fan can suck in cold air. The Lian Li PC-9 chassis is already shipping and has a MSRP of $190. For more information please visit Lian Li's official page here.

I would like Lian-Li had they not keep placing the power supply at the bottom the case. I really don't like running power mains past everything solid and hot. Maybe Lian-Li isn't the problem, it's ATX being backwards?
FordGT90Concept starts chanting "CTX" in rapid succession. ![]() I think most cases are too good because they outlast the components 10x fold which means I won't be in the market to buy for a long time.

Just run the ATX cables behind the mobo tray finally some decent cut-outs so Mr. Rotary can take a break.
Now just need this in a full tower. |

I actually really like this, it's not as long as my case which is a plus, but it's 100mm taller, not really a major issue. Still, I really like this.

ShadowFold,
True, they're expensive, but they're also built of pure awesomeness so if you own one you don't even want to buy another case ever again.

I've always been a fan of their cases but have never been able to afford one.

That's why I've used the same case since the '90's. Lian Li makes outstanding cases.
