System Specs

Is this build ok, please advise.

Hello, im trying to build another pc but i'm not sure .
These are the components i think i need
p5q3 deluxe/wifi ap-n //Recomended

Intel Q9550 Yorkfield 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 95W ///OK

Noctua NH-U12P //Subject to change

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
//OK

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB //OK

CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W // subject to change if the offer expires.

Do you think it's ok or you would change something.

I would be gaming at 1900*1200

p5q deluxe

your psu is overkill. 800 is about right for that build.

System Specs

P5q Deluxe doesn't support ddR3
Rampage Formula doesn't support dd3 either.

So for now Rampage Extreme but i think it's quite expensive.

what psu would you recommend.

Go with a P45 for OCing quads:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131299

Get a smaller PSU, 100w is overkill:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Corsair%20750w

And try and get a Xigmatek S1283 cooler with the back plate!

I've never had a quad but don't they have the same size ihs? The problem with with the 4 is the outer pipes dont make much contact with the ihs..

but on a quad the 2 pairs of cores are a small distance apart. the 1284 has 2pipes on each pair of cores.
