PowerColor Adds to the Radeon HD 4830 Range

PowerColor will be making its addition to the range of graphics cards based on AMD's newest GPU, the Radeon HD 4830. The PowerColor card features a custom-design for cooler and the PCB. The GPU is cooled by a circular cooler with radial fins. The memory is provided with a heatspreader.

The card is likely to use reference speeds by ATI, of 575 MHz core, and 1800 MHz memory. It provides a HDMI port on the card, apart from D-Sub and DVI connectors. It is also likely that this card will be released on October 23, the day AMD unveils the Radeon HD 4830 GPU.

For reference, the 4850 scores around X2800 stock, meaning you're looking at a 15-20% performance gap between the two, depending upon how exactly you look at it.

So it should fall comfortably in the 8800/9800 GT range.

so 4 of them would kick SLI 8800GT easy.. if they are around $100 it would be perfect card to compete with the 8800/9800GT because they both would be in the same price range

1 should be very competitive, if not anything else, with 1 8800/9800 GT. If I had the money for four 4830's, I'd rather buy two GTX 260's, but that's a different story altogether.

gotta love how there is a video card product line for every $10 step you make. Really, what is the point of shooting below a 9800GTX or 4850 if you are a gamer? They are so cheap themselves. Lower cards are rather pointless cuz the price difference is really negligible. And if you're looking for a HTPC card, an IGP or $20 3450 can do the trick fine.

4850's aint exactly the cheapest thing in the world and for some people £20-30 quid can make a rather large difference as most people are on a rather tight budget and gaming is your average person's hobbie
